Hyundai Palisade is about to sell genuine in Vietnam

Hyundai's largest and most expensive 3-row SUV is expected to launch at the end of 2023, competing with Ford Explorer, Volkswagen Teramont.

After several years of market exploration, Hyundai Thanh Cong will distribute genuine Palisade in Vietnam. "The plan is to sell the car by the end of 2023, but with the current gloomy market situation, the launch of the car may be slower than expected," a source of VnExpress said.

In 2019, Hyundai Thanh Cong imported a shipment of about 10 Palisade units for the purpose of market research. At that time, the company said there was no specific sales plan.

Palisade sold in Vietnam is likely to be imported. With new product lines, Hyundai Thanh Cong usually imports first, and then assembles if the market capacity is stable, such as Creta , Stargazer . Palisade currently assembles at two Hyundai factories, one in Korea, the other in Russia.

Hyundai Palisade is one of the new products that the company plans to introduce in Vietnam, along with the electric car Ioniq 5 or the MPV Custo model (size C). The company's goal is to diversify the product range and compete for the first place in sales with its main rival Toyota.

Palisade has a unibody structure and when it is on the market, it will become a rival to 3-row SUV models such as Ford Explorer priced at VND 2,399 billion, Volkswagen Teramont priced at VND 2,499 billion, all imported from the US. There is no official selling price, but in the price list for calculating the registration fee of the Ministry of Finance, the Hyundai Palisade is priced at 1.87 billion VND.

It is not clear the engine configuration and equipment of Hyundai Palisade in Vietnam. In the US, Palisade has 2 engine options, including CRDi R-Line I4 Diesel engine, 2.2 liter capacity producing 197 horsepower and GDI Atkinson V6 gasoline engine, 3.8 liter capacity for power. 291 hp strong. Comes with it is an 8-speed automatic transmission combined with the HTRAC all-wheel drive system.
