China successfully tested the world's fastest high-speed train: The speed reached 453 km/h, covering a distance of more than 1,300 km in just 2.5 hours.
China Railway Corporation recently successfully tested the CR450 train running with a speed of 453 km/h and a relative speed of 891 km/h.
On July 1, China Railway Corporation said it had completed performance testing of key high-tech components in the CR450 high-speed train. It is known that this is the fastest train in the world, exceeding 400 km/h, marking an important milestone in China's world-leading high-speed rail technology.
China is working to promote the development of a new generation of high-speed trains, which are fast, safe, environmentally friendly, energy-saving and smarter. Accordingly, China Railway Corporation has conducted a test of the CR450 train along the railway section from Fuqing to Quanzhou in Fujian province, east China.
On June 28, the test train was carried out on the bridge over the sea of Mai Chau Bay, which was evaluated as a success. The CR450 train runs at a speed of 453 km/h and a relative speed of 891 km/h. After a day, the train continued to test in the Haiwei tunnel with a speed of 420 km/h and a relative speed of 840 km/h.
New technological components have been adopted following performance tests for efficiency results, which are demonstrated by various indicators. This achievement marks an important milestone in the development of the CR450 high-speed train, laying a solid foundation for the implementation of the CR450 Technology Innovation Project, according to China Railway Corporation.
CR450 is a train designed with an operating speed of 400 km/h. Currently, the fastest operating speed of high-speed trains in China is 350 km/h and is also the fastest operating speed on high-speed rail in the world. According to Chinese local media, the highest operating speed of high-speed trains in Japan and France is set at 320 km/h.
With a speed of 400 km/h, the CR450 will shorten the journey from Beijing to Shanghai to 2.5 hours. And at such speeds, the distance from New York to Washington DC in the US could be less than 55 minutes, compared to 3-4 hours traveling by car or regular train.
Unlike the six-fold speed-up experiments that took place between 1997 and 2007, when China tried to take the lead, recent trials have helped China maintain its advantage in operating The fastest train in the world, according to Sun Zhang, a railway expert at Shanghai Tongji University.
Mr. Sun recalled about the 6th train speed increase test on April 18, 2007, when China increased the train speed from 160 km/h to 200 km/h. After putting into operation high-speed trains in 2008, this country quickly leads with trains running at the current speed of 350 km/h.
After reaching a certain speed, increasing the speed further is not an easy task, he added. With a speed increase of 50 km/h, he noted, the CR450 will be a prime example of a leap in quality and serve as an important milestone in the development of the high-speed rail system. of China.
