The abandoned building became a luxury hotel in New York

From an abandoned building, the Beekman hotel was born as a lavish place in Manhattan. Room rates here range from 400 - 3,500 USD / night.

Beekman Hotel recently opened in Manhattan, New York after more than 2 years of remodeling. The original building has 9 floors, built in 1883, is one of the first tall buildings in Manhattan. By 1890, the building was built 10 more floors. Since then, many remodeling projects have been considered but it was not until 2014. Photo: Richard Jordan.

Before the remodeling, the top floors were always in a state of emptiness and dilapidation, making the building an uninhabited destination. Photo: Gothamist.
