Juliet's house
The first place most travelers to Verona want to visit is the "Juliet's House" with the famous balcony, where Romeo gave Juliet his love.
Juliet’s house, or Casa di Giulietta in Italian, also has its own fate. Built in the 12th century, the house was originally the residence of the Capello family (almost identical to the Capuletti family name in the story). In 1667, the Capello family sold their house to the Rissardi family and the new owners turned the house into a hotel. This is where the tourists stop to stay overnight and the owners of the house tell them about the character of Shakespeare used to live here. In fact, this house is no different from any house in Italy. In 1907, it was auctioned off and bought by the city government. Subsequently, the Verona city government decided to establish a museum.

Verona officials did not carry out any restoration and remodeling work for hundreds of years until George Cukor made the movie "Romeo and Juliet" in 1936. And this gave a new life to "Juliet's house", people began to pay attention to the artwork of the writer Shakespeare. The restoration and remodeling process was completed within a few weeks and the museum was open to visitors.
First of all, when you enter the courtyard inside the house, visitors will be attracted by the beautiful arched walkway built in gothic style, with brick walls and solid pillars on site. Guests can also easily recognize the balcony of love of Romeo and Juliet. In fact, a new balcony was built in the 1930s. The couple believed that if they kissed here, nothing could separate them.
Many people believe that if you touch the right hand of Juliet's bronze statue, then luck and love will always be with you. Photo: photographbyjay.
At the entrance of the house is a bronze statue of Juliet, made by Nereo Constantini. Tourists come here to want to take pictures with this statue and that is why it is strictly protected by museum staff.
Step inside the house, you can see everything here is connected to the work of Shakespeare and the film based on this tragic love story. There are many photos, paintings and costumes ... placed here.
Lovers come here often to leave love letters, love letters with all kinds of languages on the walls around the house. Or if you want to send a love message to Romeo or Juliet, you can also use one of the computers on the second floor to email your favorite character.
